PokéBonk Troubleshooting

Updated

TL;DR · Reload the page after updates, enable hardware acceleration, lower graphics settings, and click inside the game to restore keyboard focus.

Game will not load or shows Poké Balls instead of Pokémon

  • Hard-reload the tab after an update (the patch notes ask for this every time).
  • Allow third-party cookies/storage for pokebonk.com if your browser blocks them inside embeds; or use “Open original”.
  • Since Patch #7 you can use Settings → Graphics → Reload graphics if sprites stay blank.

Low FPS or stutter

  • Enable hardware acceleration in your browser — the game warns you if it is off.
  • Turn down Effects opacity, enable Hide my attacks, set pickup effects to Simple and disable floating text.
  • On phones, keep Battery saver on (30 fps, lower resolution).

White or black screen mid-run

A white screen usually means the GPU reset. The game pauses and offers to continue without graphics or reload — your run is kept.

Keys not working in an embed

Click inside the game frame so it has keyboard focus. If WASD triggers browser shortcuts, use our fullscreen button or open the original site. In fullscreen, pause with P.

Lost runs and progress

Runs autosave every few seconds and are resent when you reopen the game (Patch #6–7). Guest progress lives in that browser’s storage: clearing site data or using private windows erases it. Make an account to keep progress safely.

Frequently asked questions

Why is PokéBonk so laggy?

Most often hardware acceleration is disabled. Turn it on and lower effect settings.

Will I lose my progress playing in the embed?

Embedded play stores data for pokebonk.com in your browser. Some browsers partition that storage, so progress may differ from the original site — log in to an account to sync.
